Sampad Acharya made painting his career after securing a diploma in Fine Art Indian Style & Murals from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. In the course of his painting career he met the late Mrinal Kanti Das and was inspired and influenced by his paintings. He then decided to dedicate himself to the cause of Indian Style painting introduced by Shri Abanindranath Tagore. His work exemplifies this style.
