And their interpretations and expressions are endless, vibrantly alive covering a gamut of genres from painting to sculpture to handicrafts. And true to the Indian ethos their most defining feature is that they are all a part of life itself. That’s how they should be truly seen. Not as something to be hung on the wall or put on a pedestal. Rather as a joyous celebration of all that is true, all that is noble and all that is beautiful in life. No matter how simple and how elementary, the ecstasy of creativity is all pervasive. And it can be experienced even in the most contemporary Indian works of art where modernity and tradition coexist; the ancient and the recent complement each other.
