Padmini Palace - Chittor by Aparup Mukherjee

Chittorgarh is the epitome of Rajput pride, the warrior caste of Rajasthan, who preferred death to surrender.
It was here that the queen, Rani Padmini, self-immolated herself rather than allow herself and the other ladies of the court be captured by the invaders. The Rajputs were great patrons of art and architecture as seen by the many forts with their unique facades and cupolas. Aparup perfectly captures the grandeur of the times and completes the picture with a landscape that frames the majesty of the tower.
